Reviving the Spirit of Outdoor Recreation
Not long ago, Barksdale’s Outdoor Recreation program was quiet—its paintball field overgrown and events nearly extinct.
That changed with the arrival of Programmer Caitlyn “Bailie” Singleton and ODR Director Heather Stark.
Together, they have reignited Barksdale’s ODR, reconnecting Airmen and families with the outdoors.
Paintball Resurrection:
A Story of Grit
When Bailie first visited the paintball field, she saw a graveyard of rusted barrels and broken barriers. Where others saw decay, she saw potential.
With volunteers, trailers, and sheer will, she cleared debris, filled dumpsters, and launched the first step toward restoring this once-thriving program.
Now, Phase 2—Development and Construction—is underway.
