Recreation Aides
Recreation Aides play a pivotal role in the operational aspects of outdoor recreation, contributing to the seamless functioning of facilities and the smooth facilitation of activities. These positions beckon individuals with a deep appreciation for the great outdoors and a desire to enrich the lives of others through memorable recreational experiences.
Recreation Aides work under the Recreation Assistant and Specialist. They complete simpler, more repetitive task, that are more easily learned than assignments carried out by recreation assistants.
Recreation Aids can be GS-01 through GS 3 or NF-01
Example of duties
- Aids in setting up areas for games, tournaments, and other organized recreational activities
- Records attendance; takes reservations and payments for trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes
- Answers inquiries about time, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled
- Arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return
- Helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks
- Sales or stock clerk in a recreation supplies and equipment shop
